Howdy,

I am regular visitor of this website. blog.tellallmyfriends.com is filled with quality info. Do you pay attention towards your health?. Here is a fact for you.  Research presents that nearly 70% of all United States grownups are either obese or weighty. Therefore if you’re one of these people, you’re not alone. Its true that we all can’t be like Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Megan Fox, and have sexy and perfect six pack abs. Now the question is how you are planning to have weight loss? What can you recommend?

Karenad
Hi Karenad,

Yes I agree, our health is of the utmost importance! And it’s good that you mention this at Easter too – everyone is going to be tripping over each other to find the perfect Easter eggs when they could be treating each other with healthy activities that are fun too! There are loads of fun Easter activities that you could enjoy like Sphereing or Zorbing, and there are some healthy food options as well. Here are some of my favourite classes that you might share with a loved one for the perfect Easter gift that is pro healthy living:

Keith Burke’s MARKET FRESH cookery course is a fabulous introduction to healthy eating. You are guided around one of London’s finest fresh produce market to purchase lovely fresh ingredients before heading on to Keith Burke’s (Michelin Star Chef!) kitchen to learn how to prepare them. This is a great cooking course for couples – - I hear that it is heaps of fun!

Another cooking course you might consider is the quick and easy “cook, eat and run” course which is taking the nation by storm. This incredibly popular course is ideal for those of you who don’t have much time to spend enjoying the culinary arts but would like to give it a go anyway… you learn quick and easy recipes that you can cook up in half an hour, and then you sit down with your classmates and enjoy your cooked meal together afterwards. The recipes are delicious and the class has a very friendly atmosphere. Have a quick look at this video to see what I mean:

And finally, my personal favourite is the THAI COOKERY course, also hosted by Keith Burke. If you love Thai food (and I DO!) then you’ll love this course! Keith is friendly and encouraging, the kitchen facilities are superb and the people are all so nice! I had a brilliant time there, I can’t wait to go back! And best of all my new Thai Green Curry recipe is a hit at all of our dinner parties! This is a must do this Easter.

Good luck with finding the perfect Easter Gift, and I hope that you manage to achieve those six-pack abs you mentioned! ;)

Retirement gifts for your aunt

Treat your aunt to a fun hobby class so that she can spend her retirement enjoying the finer things in life! Here are two brilliant ideas that your aunt will adore – just what she needs to kick start her quality time!

My first gift idea is one that I have personally found to be particularly appropriate as a retirement gift: a jewellery making workshop. This is a particularly nice treat for up and coming designers who want to learn some skills, but also for anyone who is interested in having a good time and learning a little about jewellery making. The nice thing about this is that you get to keep what you make so your aunt will be heading home with a heap of inspiration and a beautiful necklace or pair of earrings. Have a look at what she’ll get to do:

Another really good idea would be to spoil her with a decadent cooking course like Thai Cooking with Keith Burke, Seafood delights with a top chef and even chocolate making workshops.  She’ll love her new-found skills and she’ll be able to try them out at home as well. This could be the start of a brilliant new hobby!

Anniversary Gifts for your aunty

If your aunt is happily celebrating her wedding anniversary this month then now’s the time to take advantage of all the special offers currently available! Spoil her with a treat second to none and make her wedding anniversary ultra special.

This is something I feel quite strongly about – I have four aunts on one side of my family! So I spend a lot of time researching great gift ideas and coming up with special treats that they’ll adore :)

One winning gift that always goes down a treat with the ladies is a fabulous Hot Stone Massage which will leave her refreshed and revitalised and completely rejuvenated! This is a great anniversary gift for everyone, and I’m certain that your aunt will adore it!

Another great option is a 3 hour jewellery making workshop where your aunt will be treated to an enjoyable workshop filled with jewellery ins and outs, giving her everything she needs to make herself a stunning necklace or a pair of ‘designer’ earrings. This is a really nice activity because she’ll hand-make a fashion accessory that she can wear to her anniversary dinner or celebration party! :-) Here’s a quick video of someone having a go at one of these workshops, see how easy it is!

Easter gift ideas for your arty aunty

The second person on my ‘Easter gifts still to buy’ list is my aunt. She is a fabulously arty person and I recently treated her to a glass fusing course where she learnt some amazing techniques that have been put to good use in her home art studio! I’m really impressed with the way everything turned out. So how do you go about ‘topping’ that kind of gift success? Easter chocolates just wont do!

I must admit that I was stumped for quite a while. I’ve been doodling on my notebook in the office, dwelling on it over dinner, and generally trying to come up with a stunning idea that will impress and delight her… and that’s when I realised that I don’t have to top that gift – I just need to make it better!

What I mean is this: instead of trying to find new and better gifts for my arty aunt, I’ve decided to expand her glass-fusing repertoire and her artistic expression by taking her new-found skill to a whole new level. That’s why I’m going to get her an exclusive glass blowing class where she’ll learn all about this ancient art and she’ll have the opportunity to create some amazing pieces that will provide an excellent foundation for her glass-fusing techniques. She’ll be able to really make the most of her new hobby and I’ll have found the perfect Easter gift ;-)

I have to highly recommend the glass workshops for all ‘arty types’ – my aunt really loved this experience and everything she has made is really beautiful. It’s a fantastic course – I can’t think of anything better!

Summer Day Activities for your aunt

If you’re looking to spend some fun in the sun with your dearest aunt then I might have just the thing for you!

My nieces surprised me last weekend with a special treat: they decided to get me up and out of bed early on Saturday morning because we were headed out for some hot air ballooning fun! Now I’ve never been fortunate to try this before so it was a completely new experience for all of us!

It was such an amazing experience, it leaves me rather speechless. We were all so excited to be flying in a balloon basket (I was sceptical at first, but you get over it quite quickly) that we quickly forgot about how scary it might be. We were very fortunate that there weren’t that many clouds which meant that we had very good views! Unfortunately after a little while the wind picked up and it started getting very chilly so our ‘pilot’ brought us down again, but it was well worth it anyway! I’d highly recommend it to anyone – just check the weather forecast in advance to make sure that your trip isn’t cut short like ours was.

My nieces are so sweet! This was their ‘thank you’ gift to me for helping plan a big surprise do for their mum from them. I must say, I could get used to this kind of treatment ;-)

Gift ideas for aunts

Posted by Stacey | Posted in Aunt, Aunt Birthday Gifts, For Her | Posted on 25-02-2010

I’m very lucky to have a big family. My mother is one of four girls, so I’ve got a whole lot of aunts! That does make it quite tricky to buy birthday gifts though… each aunt is quite different from the others and you have to find the perfect gift without ‘upstaging’ any other gifts you’ve bought the rest.

It probably doesn’t help that their birthdays are all within two weeks of each other!

In previous years the whole family got together and cooked dinner on one night to celebrate all four birthdays… but seeing as this is the year of Gift Revolution, I’m going to spoil each and every one of them without breaking the bank (or breaking a sweat!). I hope you find some of my suggestions useful for your own aunts!

For my arty aunt (the one who is a goddess in the art studio) I’m going to get a glass-fusing course. She has a lot of beautiful glass art around her home and I know she’ll appreciate the opportunity to learn how to make it herself. She’s also very keen on mosaic art and this course teaches you the basics of glass cutting (and you can make stunning glass pieces and tiles too) so it’ll be very very useful for her favourite hobby. You also get to make a glass object to take home, making it the perfect gift idea for someone who loves beautiful things!

For my business-professional art I’m going to get her something that’ll break her daily routine a bit. She spends 90% of her time in her office where she runs she her own business and she has very little time to look after herself! I’m going to treat her to a massage at a top urban spa that offers peace and tranquillity in the heart of the city.  This is such a clever idea for busy people that don’t have much time to get to a spa retreat or luxury country club – just pop out of the office for an hour and a half during lunch time to get a little bit of pampering!

And finally, my aunt who is a whizz in the kitchen when it comes to gourmet meals and delicious nibbles. She’s a professional chef so she spends her days cooking main meals and serving up soups. I thought I’d show her what the sweet side of her kitchen is like by treating her to a fun-filled cupcake class! This one is all about the fun so she’ll be able to relax and enjoy herself in her favourite ‘me’ space. Have a look at this video to see what I’m talking about:
