Gift Ideas for Sisters

Please help! It’s my sister’s birthday and I have no idea what to get her. She likes cooking, she likes sewing, she loves jewellery designing … she’s one of those arty types that can do everything. I thought about getting her scrapbooking stuff but she has plenty and I’m sure it would just get put in the cupboard and forgotten about. I want something she’ll actually use!!

Abby.

Dearest Abby,

This is something I have a lot of experience with! My sister is just the same – she collects and hordes things for all of her hobbies, and it’s just piling up in her ‘craft room’. You’re very right to not want to add to that stash, good thinking! I have a few good ideas for you …

Why not send her on a craft course? Your sister seems to be the kind of person who is constantly inspired by new things and new ideas and she’ll love the chance to try something exciting. There are a number of crafty activities out there – why not send her on a glass bead-making course? She’ll learn how to make her own beads which she can use in her jewellery designing. That way if she decides to continue with it she’ll be collecting things she can actually use.

Another idea would be to treat her to a cooking course so she can learn how to make some new things in her kitchen. There are loads of different cuisines to choose from so I’m sure you’ll be able to find one that is new and exciting for her. Why not take her to a sushi workshop so she can enjoy some yummy tastes and learn to make them too.

And while we’re on the topic of food… you could take her out for a deliciously decadent treat. You should indulge and spoil yourselves to a fabulous afternoon tea or a yummy dinner which will give you some quality time together – not to mention some quality treats! This is a great idea for someone who loves fine food and cooking.

I wish you the best of luck in choosing which one you like best! Your sister is very lucky. Do let me know how it goes!
